Welcome to Y6C!

Welcome to Y6C's class page. We are extremely busy preparing for SATs, but take a look at some of the wonderful things we have been getting up to.

This year we have studied World War 2 and have been on a trip to Eden Camp where we learned all about what war was like. We attended a Remembrance Day service at West Park Cenotaph and we laid our very own poppy wreath to remember all of the people who lost their lives during conflicts. We also visited Saltwell Park. We researched the names of local soldiers who lost their lives and we all laid individual crosses to remember them. To top it all off, we have even built our very own Anderson Shelter on our school field. Thank you to all of our parents who came and helped us dig the hole - it was very hard work. Next time you are in our school grounds, please have a look at how fantastic it looks.

We are currently looking at the topic of Crime and Punishment. and have studied Gangsta Granny by David Walliams. We researched David Walliams and created a biography of him. We loved his story so much, that we even created our own stories about Gangsta Gramps. In art, we have recreated a the painting of "The Execution of the Emperor Maximillian" by Edouard Manet. We did this by creating a collage of tissue paper to form a mural. It looks fabulous.
